The extreme militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have been very successful in taking over towns and villages in northern and western Iraq. The ISIL militants were able to recover U.S. made armored Humvee vehicles after seizing the second largest city in Iraq. The militants breached the second largest ammo depot in Mosul, and took the weapons and vehicles to Syria. The militants transported U.S. made armored vehicles to Syria so they could be used to capture the villages of Eksar and Maalal in Alleppo province, Syria.
It appears that the ISIL militants may provide a reason for the US to go after the ISIL militants inside Syria. The US administration has frequently said that all options are on the table in regards to Iraq and the ISIL.
Did you know that Australia has become the largest contributor of foreign fighters to the ISIL extremist group? An estimated 150 to 300 Australian citizens have left their home country and joined the radical militant group. American citizens have also left their home country to fight with the militant group in Syria and Iraq.
