The U.S. military since August 8th has been conducting air strikes in Iraq to destroy the Islamic State. The military will expand the already surveillance over Iraq and include Syria. Predator, Reaper unmanned aircraft will fly over Syria to include U.S. Navy EA-18G electronic warfare planes that will be jamming air defense and striking ground targets. It is not known what day it will be that the United States will attack targets inside Syria.
Inside Syria, the air defense systems are located on the western side of the country. Eastern Syria is less population and where the Islamic State (IS) is generally located. The Islamic State has a major base in Riqqa, where the oil fields are also located.
