The American Contractor will bring you updated news that is accurate and not false or misleading. Someone had said the U.N. troops are being flown into Baghdad?! Readers of the American Contractor web site this is not true at all. There are no UN Troops in the country of Iraq. There is no US Military getting ready and donning on UN Symbols on there uniforms. A new U.N. resolution would have to be made with the support of the international community. I don’t think the support is there for this new chapter for Iraq.

Iraqi labour minister rejects joining World Trade Organization

Joining the WTO is not the best thing for Iraq.

Baghdad, 15 August: The Iraqi minister of labour and social affairs, Mahmud al-Shaykh Radhi, said that he rejects the notion that Iraq joins the World Trade Organization (WTO).
“My ministry examined this issue considering its effects on the levels of labour and unemployment,” the minister told Aswat al-Iraq news agency on Sunday.
He noted that his ministry has conclusively found that this issue will negatively affect work efficiency in Iraq.

It has been two days since the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) had there scheduled meeting on Iraq. Did you all know the meeting was scheduled? The meeting was a routine meet that is held every three months. It was not a meeting due to the ongoing crisis of Iraqi officials attempt to form a government as some would lead you to believe. And in three months there will be another meet with the UNSC on Iraq.
In my last Intel AC-I report dated 4 August, I had said the UNSC has no power over Iraq to install and force an Iraqi government. I said the UNSC meeting is about recommending to speed up the forming of the government. If you forgot what I had said go back and read it again.

The meeting with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is not
about the lifting of the Chapter VII sanctions from Iraq. The UNSC
meeting is about recommending to speed up the forming of the
government. The UN Sanctions will remain for the foreseeable future
in 2010. One thing no one has mentioned is the smuggling of oil
between Kurdistan and Iran which has been going on for many years. PM
Nuri Maliki has stated “that any Iraqi violations of the international
sanctions against Iran could further defame Iraq’s image in the U.N.
Security Council and delay the country’s release from Chapter VII.”
The continued delaying in forming of the Iraqi government has more
implications such as the Financial Monitoring Board will negatively
effect the Transfer of the Iraq Development Fund to the Iraq
government following the completion of the U.N. guardianship at the
end of 2010.
